"After two rather discouraging meetings with other contractors, I came across the Patios by B & B ad in a recent Angie's List magazine, and decided to contact them; which proved to be a fortunate decision. I called Paul Goldman, the owner/designer, and made arrangements to meet with him the following day. At the meeting, we discussed my desires for the rather extensive (over 500 sq. ft.), three part system involving existing brick posts, large beams, and numerous planters, along with his excellent suggestions for dealing with them. The following day Paul presented his plans, estimated price, and start date for the following week ‑ I signed the contract. On each of the four days the project took to complete, Paul arrived early and discussed with me and his crew leader, Jose, the plans for the day. Jose and his crew always were prompt, professional, and a pleasure to work with; and most important, the project they completed was well built and beautiful. I would also commend the crew members for the great care they took to protect all of the existing shrubs, planters, and statuary they had to work around. During the past fifty years my wife and I have owned several homes and dealt with numerous home improvement contractors, and we both agree that Paul Goldman and his company, Patios By B & B, are among the very finest. "Patios by B&B owner, Paul Goldman, came out himself for the estimate. I knew from the minute I met him (after having received 3 other quotes), that he was the contractor we were going to choose regardless of price. He came out on a Saturday, and we had a detailed written quote 3 days later. Turns out he was the CHEAPEST of the 4 bids we got, but he offered something more important to us ‑ integrity in the work he was doing. It was clear that he loved what he did, and his number one priority was ensuring that the customer's vision was implemented. He offered good suggestions during the estimate and EXACTLY knew how he was going to tackle a few unique requests we had. He was extremely professional and a professional and a pleasure to work with. We even had an additional small request that we thought had been listed in the contract and wasn't. But he did it anyways without charging us. His workers (whom he has worked with for years) were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. When Paul himself came to do the final walk through, we were so impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the attention to not only details but to our vision. I would hire him again without hesitation. I felt compelled to get him listed on Angie's List, and NONE of them impressed (not to mention they all had higher pricing).
